Server 6: An Important Announcement

Some of you (those of you in JF or JCC) have probably seen the announcement, but server 6 has come under the control of the mighty Jerk Factory.

Fear not, loyal JCC-ians!  We aren't taking away your custom maps!  No, instead we are keeping them and adding some stock maps to the server.  We aren't taking away your Zombie Fortress either.  And we'll still have playtests.  See, it's really basically the same, just with some new bells and whistles.

Jigen is still an admin.  We've just added on 3 more - myself, Dingo and Scott.  

Expect an event of some sort in the near future, likely something Dingo and I have been wanting to do for a while but keep putting off.

Some things about the server:

1.  It's not super serious business, but it's also not totally lulzbased.  We want a fun, engaging environment that's more laidback than the competitive rotation server (#8), but also an environment that caters to those of us who like a change of scenery sometimes.  So what this means is, come and play as you like, but do know when to goof off and when to get serious.  Generally speaking, we start "real games" when it's 4v4 or 5v5 (usually the latter).

2.  There are no stats on the server, but there is action tracking.  What this means is that there will be awards, but there are no points.  So we all have 1000 points.  Forever.  This is sort of an experiment between JF and Octo to see if it works out.  In order to encourage fun and discourage excessive point-farming, but to still give the joy and pride of seeing how many people you soaked in Jarate, we feel it is worth a try.  If you see any points being given out when checking awards, let one of the admins know, or give Octo a heads up.

3.  The server has a rotation cycle in case RTV doesn't happen, but it does have RTV.  No, this does not mean that it is constantly on PacMan (in fact, PacMan hasn't even been voted yet!).  It does mean if you get tired of doing nothing in Turbine, you can RTV to change it.  This is a good thing.  We have CP and CTF maps, and more will be added as we work out the kinks in the list and when we see what attracts players and what drives them away.  This has already been done by replacing Glacier with Labor.  There is no 2fort on this server.

4.  As with all Newbs servers, no racism, no sexism, no bigotry, no being a total douchebag, and no stickying spawn.  

5.  We want to attract new players to the server, and this includes people from all skillsets - new players and old players. Be nice, and try to keep the teams even and keep the games fair with as little steamrolling as possible.  If you see a team (or are on a team) that is steamrolling the other consistently, do something about it, whether it be bringing it up to admins or switching to a class you're not so good at.  We will really, really appreciate it and it will help get the server going and gain a playerbase.

Also, 6. While on the server, you must laugh at each bad joke Scott and I tell. Such as "Urine trouble now!" and "That's some GRATE camping!"

I hope it does well...I've really been wanting to play something besides 2fort and badwater, and after trying out a whole bunch of random crappy servers last night I'm convinced there is no decent rotation server out there.  I think I ended up on one server that was made up completely of people banned from Newbs.   Please feel free to invite me whenever you're trying to start it up, as long as it's in the evenings.
