Regardless of the holiday you celebrate in the month of December - Winter Solstice, Christmas, Yule, Hanukkah, Refrigerator Day, Holiday, Kwanzaa, Winterval, or Festivus - this contest is for you.  The theme is simple, winter holiday + Team Fortress 2.  Any creative (or even not so creative) work is welcome to enter.  You may create decorations, screen savers, computer generated images, food items, candies, posters, sculptures, stereograms, jewelry, cakes, poems, songs, literature, short stories, long stories, haikus, car emblems, body paint art or any other thing that can be made by man or woman and documented with a picture / audio file.  The medium is not important, the important part is the teaming of TF2 with symbols of December.  Be creative, be smart, and be proud.  Each person may enter as many pieces of 'work' as they wish in this contest.  Entries that are very similar will be grouped together and judged based on individual items and as a collection - being credited with the best review - so if you make 50 scout cookies might as well take pictures of all of them lined up as an army cuz it might get you a better 'score' Smiley

Prizes are a surprise, until I find out what they are.  I'm thinking we might have a mystery prize/random draw that isn't based on the work itself.  So even if your decorations turn out to look like a gggly pumpkin, you could still win a sweet prize.

We have set up a steam group for this... Join it...  http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TF2Xmas

The contest begins December 1st and ends January 1st.  There is a high likelyhood that I'll be giving away 'weekly' prizes also.  So get your projects started and be sure to enter early, and enter often.

Is making a fruitcake creative or not?  And do you want the cake when I'm done octo?  Nobody here is going to eat it.  You know it I'm not even going to lie.  Anyone want the fruitcake I'll inevitably receive?

Is it TF2 Themed?  I believe that unwanted fruitcakes are best left donated to the needy, or destroyed with a baseball bat or similar tool on video.  Just wear safety glasses because you don't want to lose an eye to a fruitcake.

If I smash it with a baseball bat while wearing goggles and playing Christmas music... would that count?

Or would I have have to play religiously neutral music?  Wink
