My CPU has recently been maxed out by svchost and is causing FPS drops, and idea how to fix this?

svchost is what runs all your services...Go into the services section of your control panel under "Adminstrative Tools" and start stopping services until the cpu usage goes down...That will hopefully tell you which one is causing the problem and you can go from there.  It's kind of tedious but it's what I'd do before trying the five billion fixes the internet suggests :-)

I tried that, still at around 100 usage.
Though some of the services I couldnt stop.

Does it do it in safe mode as well?  If not, try unchecking the services in the msconfig tool, then you can restart and see if one of the ones you unchecked was causing the problem.
