upgrading ram and HD's on most laptops is a breeze. Other than that you are SOL with upgrading anything.

DONT BUY OFF CRAIGSLIST! i tried to buy a used lappy off someone and he said his work sent him to UK (this was yesterday) so he would send it from there. and he sent me the linky to the sight and within 10 seconds my avast went all ape on me and llerted me of a trojan... second time this has happened to me with craigslist making it 2for2 Angry

Around what price point are you looking to spend on a laptop? if processing power isnt important i'd say go with the Eee laptops or similar ultra-portables/netbooks since you wouldnt be demanding much out of it. But if you'd like something with a bit more power than that Thinkpads, and umm... there's a few other similar laptops (i forget the product lines off the top of my head)

yeah i mean, i think i can get by on like.. a 1.7ish ghz.. 2 gigs of ram i would imagine. i my super cool lappy is a 2.0ghz. so.. i duno. I dont need a big monitor, or anything fancy except a decent sound card. I use the stock one on this for dinner music and it works fine : P .. serato for the big time stuff. so yea, like i said its a backup, that could get me by in a squeeze. like i was just in. so i dont mind it being used as long as its stable ya know.. i just need something to work when i need it : )
