I'm legit excited about this.  I can't wait to see what questions are gonna pop up.

That being said, I'll start things off:

Octo, what is your favorite band?  And so help me if it's Rebecca Black...

What inspired you and the others to make your own community? Also, who would you say were some of the biggest driving forces in building it up in the early days?

I'm gonna ask two questions here, we'll see if either makes the cut. :P

1. How hard was it to start Newbs and keep it going for its first few months? I'm really curious, because this community started like damn near every other Steam group and most of those fall flat on their faces or don't get as advanced as Newbs has become.

2. Is the game Octodad accurate to how your everyday life is? And if so, how haven't you been caught yet?

I'm really excited for this event to become a regular thing, hope the other questions are interesting and awesome too! :D

Yes it is. His wife is Octomom so it kinda just worked itself out.

What is your favorite loadout/character setup in TF2?

For example, my favorite two loadouts are Tomislav heavy with sandvich and the GRU (and the Sexual Tyranosaurus hat), and Flamethrower Pyro with Detonator for jumping and Homewrecker for unsapping (wearing the Apparition's Aspect and the Bolted Birdcage). Both of these loadouts are great for defending points on Dustbowl.

Octo, what is your favorite band?  And so help me if it's Rebecca Black...

Octo does not have a favorite band.  I do enjoy watching Method Man live, I also greatly enjoy Kid Koala because that man has talent.

What inspired you and the others to make your own community? Also, who would you say were some of the biggest driving forces in building it up in the early days?

Jib did.  He said "Octo - we need some servers for beta".  I believe that request was inspired by the countless Counter Strike (source?) servers we had to go through to find one that was decent back when we played frequently.  It was called Beer Garden I think.

I had no intention of building it past the initial two servers, both of which were running 2fort - because thats the only map I thought anyone needed.   I ran two so that we could always have one that we could get onto if the other was full (I think?).

We started the first day of beta, and it was full, then it stayed full, then stayed full even longer.  Unfortunatley back then TF2 had high requirements on linux (they've improved it a lot over the years) and the machines I was running it on were also very busy doing work that paid me, so the experience was hit or miss, and eventually became so bad that we were forced to move to a GSP.  I actively refused to have a website, or have stats.  And you see how well that plan worked out.  I think the community survied because we attracted good people early on and tried to recognize the value those people contributed.  Some of those people were Koans, all the members of [ICE] - especialyl Scott Eats Bullets (Burger Time) and Major Dewar - they even made all their friends play on our laggy servers.  There were lots of other great folks that helped out early on, Grey Devil, Link, etc - but my memory is a bit fuzzy so I'll have to work on getting a full list of folks.  One thing I remember clearly is that we had awesome people though.  After the initial couple of weeks we started picking up more and more regulars and we just kind of rode that until now.  J/K it got a lot harder, everytime we had to change ips or tried a different server format it put a lot of strain on our community but we've done very well because people care enough about us to care about us.

2. Is the game Octodad accurate to how your everyday life is? And if so, how haven't you been caught yet?

I havn't played, but I assume its identical to my life since its actually based on my actual life - and that guy owes me royalties.. but I'm not going to hit him up for it cuz I appreciate good games.

What is your Zombie Apocalypse Survival Strategy?? (for arguments sake lets say they're classic 'Night of the Living Dead zombies.)

My survival strat when it comes to having to kill things that want to kill me is simple.

Steps:
1) Acquire sniper rifle and/or rocket launcher and plenty of ammo.
2) Find Jib
3) Find a good spot to shoot from with limited entry points, probably something tall
4) Cover Jibs back as he kills everything with the sniper rifle and/or the rocket launcher
5) Use all medical supplies repairing jib - based on extensive testing in TF2 medpacks for jib makes octo lives longer..

The only flaw I see with the plan is that we don't have any food or water, but I'm pretty sure Jib could kill everything before we needed either.

Two part question: What's your dream car, and if you could have it would you feel like you're going through a mid-life crisis?

I've always said that if I ended up super rich ("fuck you money" rich) I'd buy a Dodge viper and not take care of it, crash into things and then give it away to a stranger, then just buy another one - I don't think dodge makes them anymore though.   If I was going through a mid-life crisis I would have to have a convertible, I don't think convertibles are practical at all - so if I was losing it I'd have to get one so I could "live a little".

As a person with a sweet tooth, I really must ask this Q:

What's your favorite dessert!? Or even a snack! I'm sure Octopi have a sweet tooth too. :)

My favorite is one I don't have to pay for...

I'll detail everything that came to my mind when I read the question:
favorite cookie: sugar cookie
favorite ice cream: Mint chocolate chip
favorite donut: glazed so fresh it still burns you
favorite candy commonly sold at the movies: DOTS
favorite cake: funfetti with strawberry frosting
favorite shaped sprinkles: dinosaur
favorite christmas candy: candy canes
favorite gum: cry baby extra sour bubble gum

When is crap getting his |N| tag?  ;D

Oh, thats a good one.  Unless we change the meaning of the |N| tag he can't get it since its always been thought of by me as a "founders" tag.  We weren't fast enough at acquiring him.   He definitely deserves special recognition for doing all that he does though, so maybe things have to change.

Question: What is your field of work, and who do you work for?

For field of work - I'm primarily a software developer/engineer/problem solver - nowadays most of its in php, but I get tossed onto DevOps duty a lot because I enjoy it and have a lot of experience in the area and the people I tend to work with would rather have me do it :)   I'm self employed, so work for myself - I try to work for people with money, but that doesn't always work out.  I have several main clients that take up all of my time currently.

I'm boring, my favorite loadout is engie with an ugly hat - perferably either a bad effect unusual (I think I have 3 confetti engie hats) or a houwar, stock weapons.  Your loudout sounds good though.  Come to think of it, I run medic almost vanilla too, I do use an ubersaw... and a pink or black medic mask.

How did you choose your name?

I did not choose my name, it was chosen for me, like all great names.  Years and years and year ago I was hanging out with this guy named Jason, the plan was to go to a party that was out in the middle of nowhere, but first we had to run a bunch of strange errands.  I don't remember the details, but I do remember him yelling at me about looking at his ?sister?mom? in a provocative way.  Eventualyl it ws dark and we were in the middle of nowhere, he suddenly decided to pull over because he had to take a crap, he then wiped his butt with a pair of sweatpants from the trunk.  We then went to a party and had fun - but since we got there so late there wasn't a whole lot of beer, so we had to wait for someone to come back with some more.  Eventually we gave up and went and sat at an all night establishment (dennys?) I believe with a few other people, next thing I knew it was morning.  So we get back in his car and he starts driving and we end up at this bridge, he pulls down underneath it and gets out a can of spray paint and wants to write something about fuck if I remember.  So I get out and watch him scribble whatever words he was going to write, then he asked me if I wanted to use some spray paint, so I said sure, and started trying to draw something.  Whatever it was, it turned out like shit, so later after getting some sleep I went and bought more spray painta nd went back so I could "fix it"l that didnt go exactly as planned either, so I bought more paint and tried to fix it more.  Eventually I was spending every day at this bridge spray painting, I gave up on fixing the original thing and had started writing various letters trying to come up with a cool looking tagger name.  One day I was down there with a couple of friends and I was doing a fill on a large word (I cant remember what it was - really should of taken pictures of this stuff), I had a can in each hand and was just moving my arms very quickly to do the fill, someone (I believe Nick) said "dude you look like an octopus with a can in each [tenticle/hand - I don't remember exactly]" and everyone laughed, so the next thing I painted was "octo" and it stuck.  Oh - people may be wondering why I told the part about Jason taking a crap on the side of the road and wiping his ass with sweatpants - he found the paint when he was looking through his trunk for something to wipe with.  So if he hadn't needed to go _right then_ I likely would of never spray painted, and would have never got the name octo.

What is your favorite/least favorite thing about the Newbs?

I'm going to answer this as if you asked "least/favorite thing about the Newbs Community" if you meant something different let me know.

Favorite - watching people make connections with other people through the community.  It makes me so happy that I've helped introduce people to other people who have added value to their lives.  When I hear about people hanging out on mumble, or having skype chat rooms, or meeting up with each other at an event and having a good time I feel like I had an integral part in shaping that persons life.

Least Favorite - having to police people.  I wish everyone could just show up and be their best version of themselves, but unfortuantely enough people think that the internet is manners optional.  I spend the time to do it even though it robs valuable time from things I do care about, mostly because I want to accomplish more of the helping people make connections stuff.

Are stats gonna be reset?

Yes - no eta on when :)

Which tf2 class do you think smells the worst

To me its a toss up between the heavy and the pyro.   The heavy probably works up a lot of BO since he's heavy, and he carries a heavy weapon, the fact that he carries a sandvich in his pocket doesn't make me think hygiene is very important to him.   The pyro runs around in a flame retardant rubber suit (? is this true?) shooting fire at people - so shes gotta be cooking in her own juices.

And to ask about the last part of your name why the hyphen and the '...'? :P

dhd was the name of the mural painting "group" (Dirty Half Dozen) - so it'd either be octo/dhd or octo-dhd or octo^dhd I think some of those characters were not allowed when I signed up for steam, and ^ reminded me of starcraft for some reason.    I'm not sure I'm legally allowed to explain the ...    I'll have to confer with my Lawyer and Jib. Maybe two lawyers.

While I read this, I couldn't help but think of Holden Caulfield in The Catcher in the Rye.  There seem to be many in the Newbs community that synectically connect seemingly random events to create meaning.

Of course, I'm wondering when the guy got back to his car and started wondering why it smelled like shit lately.

So, assuming with your last answer, you think the pyro is a female?

I like the rumor, so I'll perpetuate it.

how did you meet the other two head admins? :o

I've known Jib WAY before Newbs.  As previously discussed he's my primary shooter in the event of a zombie attack and we've been known to play some star craft, or AoE, or CS, or CSS over the years together.   Koans... I tell this story better in person, but basically when I created newbs.. hmm, that might spoil a different question.  Oh well.  Anyways - when I set up the servers they needed a name, and I wanted the upside of having control over a server but without the responsibility - so I didn't want to name it 'octos garden' or something.  So I named the community "Newbs TF2" - like the owners name was Newb all while being able to bring in the new players looking for a noob/newb server.   I'd been using hlsw to admin the server with rcon.  So this worked okay for awhile, like a whole 2 hours or so.  But I decided that this was how things were just going to have to be.   A couple days later (this parts a bit fuzzy) either Jib told me about this "guy" on the server that kept on trying to organize people and moderate them, or I ran into him myself.  Either way I end up in game, and theres this "guy", standing on the battlements talking to everyone, trying to get them to organize attacks, all while trying to police the user base.  He did this creatively, and I didn't feel like it was him impersonating an admin, but he sure was trying to walk that line :)

He would say things like "hey - thats against the rules on here, you should stop or I'll have to get the admin"  - which surprised me, since there weren't any rules (other than don't be a douchebag) and no one knew who the admin is, much less knew him well enough to go and get him.  So I let him continue on for I believe a few days, he kept showing up, doing the same thing (leading, teaching, policing).  So from my perspective this guy was awesome, he was the perfect guy to absorb all the drama, but I felt like he needed the ability to actually do something - since eventually people will call you out and dare you to bring in your mysterious admin friend.  So I introduced myself to Koans and thanked him for the help, and pinned the very first admin star on him.

So Octo...we've never met, but i must know... dogs or cats?

Cats - dogs are a lot of responsibility and energy, if I'm going to dedicate an hour+ of my day to cleaning up after someone who just crapped I'd rather have a(nother) kid.

Hi. You may not know me. But I have two very important questions on my mind.

1. What will it take for server 4 to get replays? Or any other server for that matter.

2. I think everyone wants to know what you are wearing right now. Give me all the details. Don't hold back. :-*

In your opinion, what is the most important thing for an online community to have? To clarify, I'm asking for a thing that a community needs to thrive as one. I'm also not just talking about the TF2Newbs community specifically, but online communities in general.

2. What's your favourite dish? (Or meal)

Over of course

My question:
Are you proud of me, father?

Yes.

What's your father Cthulhu like? Is he more Lovecraftian and less Giger?

I object! Leading the witness.

1. What will it take for server 4 to get replays? Or any other server for that matter.

East coast can have them, I've been meaning to set it up for awhile now.  West can't, well maybe they can now, our traffic went to shit with all of valves changes.

2. I think everyone wants to know what you are wearing right now. Give me all the details. Don't hold back. :-*

The usual, a graphic tee, socks, oh yeah - I do have pants on, but only because I had to be on a video call earlier.

If I ever meet you in real life, which if your 8 hands is it socially acceptable to shake?

None of the bottom 3..  the other ones are fair game.

In your opinion, what is the most important thing for an online community to have? To clarify, I'm asking for a thing that a community needs to thrive as one. I'm also not just talking about the TF2Newbs community specifically, but online communities in general.

That is a tough one.   I think the thing that is the reason why a lot of communities fail is they can't find enough dedicated people who care.   Competent people who care would be even better, but just having a large enough audience that you can find people who are willing to give up whats really their most valuable asset - which is time - to help make the community what it is.  I like to think that a lot of the other things fall into place if you can handle the dedicated people who care.  Even though you didn't ask what I think is second important I'll answer that too.  I'd say it has to be having a healthy audience/consumer/user base.

1. What do you like to do once you are not busy with TF2Newbs stuff?

I'm usually WAY more busy with work and other commitments than newbs stuff, that is why I'm not around to help or play on Newbs as often as I wish I could.   For leisure / fun - outside of family and friends - I'd have to say snorkeling is my favorite thing to do.

2. What's your favourite dish? (Or meal)

Oh another tough one.

Specific Meal - I'll go with my wife's spaghetti (sauce) which is a modified version of her aunts.
Generic Food Type - pizza
Out to eat - If I'm left to order for myself at a restaurant I'll typically order a giant burger.  I've been trying to switch it up more the past couple of years though since I'm afraid I'll die young from eating too much pizza and giant burgers.

Sooooooo, what you're saying here is, if it weren't for Crap, you'd have no name.

There was one this week, but it was something minor like trying a new food, so that hardly counts.   The first one that comes to mind is that August (2013) I went zip lining for the first time (http://www.royalgorgeziplinetours.com/).

Socially I think we've matured a lot, probably because our long term regulars got older.  I think I have learned a lot from having to deal with the same handful of situations over and over again, so policies have got ironed out and are dealt with in a more consistent manner.  although slightly off topic, the other big change we went through is when we started hosting all our own servers.  That was huge because it gave us the ability to be more flexible with what servers and maps we provided and let us actually give a lot more back to the larger community.  We've also gotten better at donations, which has taken a lot of the pressure off of me since I mostly put in time, not gobs of money like in the early years.

What has been your favourite TF2 update?

Medic update :)  That made things really really fun for awhile with the ubersaw.

What is your favourite colour?

sky blue - favorite color spray paint is rustoleum teal

If you could learn something new, like a new skill or language or something, what would you learn?

I'm going to assume this is like a wish from a genie, not something I have to dedicate hundreds to thousands of hours learn.   It might not be appropriate, so adults only please
So I'd say learn how to master the female orgasm.
If that is for not an option then learning how to do the frenzel technique when I'm actually in the water with a snorkel in my mouth.  I seem to be able to do it sitting in a chair but not when I need to be able to.

2fort, or Dustbowl? ;) Decide!

Also, what is your fav. TF2 Map, custom or valve.

oh god.  that's an impossible question to answer.  2fort is the best map to grind / crush on, dustbowls one of the best maps to actually try to win.  I'd have to say badwater would have to be in the mix for my favorite.  Currently I'd join a dustbowl server over a 2fort one though.

I've never been big on custom maps because its tough to get a full server going.  I've played some really good ones though.  so I'd have to probably go with badwater.    I always liked 2fort because really one player can make or break a loss.  A good engie with light support from their team can be close to lights out - same thing with an aggressive spy our scout, you can likely take the flag with enough effort by yourself.   Dustbowl I like because its the opposite, it takes a whole team working towards attacking or defending in order to succeed.  Badwater I can play both ways, as a team or completely go full tilt trying to steal a win.

Where do you see TF2 and Newbs in 5 years?

I have no idea on tf2.  I am a bit worried about hwo valves managed to make the server population go to shit, once they cleaned up all the garbage servers that were in it for the pinion money we actually got a bump in usage, but now we're down again.  I'm hoping summer gives us some more traffic.   Newbs is going to have to continue evolving.  I've mentioned maybe swapping out the machines that are currently in colos with ones running newer os's, or maybe a different virtualization layer so we can support some windows game servers better (chivalry for one).  I think TF2 has a good chance of going on forever like counter strike and counter strike source, my worry would be player fatigue due to number of weapon choices or something.

Will Wolf ever stop asking questions?

Nope.

What is your personal theory on the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines 777?

I had a rough week so I only caught a bit of news on it.   I'll go with a safe answer and say - aliens.

oh I like question.  It might surprise most people but I'm an incredibly sentimental person - so its hard for me to answer this question because a lot of generic things remind me of feelings, events, people, or places.    I'm feeling like I need to pick the most important one, but that is tough.  Remind me later to circle back to this one.

Am I the best person evar? ;D jk don't answer that

What are your thoughts on mobile technology?

I have mixed feelings on it.

Technical - On the one hand I think its awesome that I have the internet in my pocket (even though i have an original Galaxy S which means not so fun internet), but on the other hand I'm pretty much walking around with a tracking device in my pocket, and if a store (or other entity) wants to track my movements through their store, they probably can,  Not to mention that if I have my phones wifi enabled I'm doing even more of that.

Social - I love having the internet in my pocket when I'm lost and need directions, and I love being able to play plants vs zombies while having an extended bathroom break, both of which tend to occur when I'm alone.  But when in groups - I find it deeply annoying that when I do have free time to spend with humans I often can't even get any eye contact because everyone is tapping and swiping away.   It has also made it easier for people with short attention spans to show me when they've decided I'm not interesting anymore.  I also get little beeps and buzzes constantly from alarms on servers, or text messages, or emails being received.  So I'm probably more productive, but my phone buzzing 30 times while I'm trying to have a family dinner is just annoying.

Would you rather be roaring drunk on live television, or roaring drunk at your child's wedding?

First of all I don't believe in children getting married, they should wait until they are at least 18.   That said - I think I'd be up for being roaring drunk on both really.  I just hope I keep my pants on if its live tv - and that they police aren't involved.  Weddings are good times to get blitzed because everyone is focused on the people who are getting married, I'm pretty sure I'll just be paying for the event so if I end up sleeping under a table who cares..  So for excitement i'll go with tv.

Thank you, Octo. I laughed for a good minute at your answer. I'm sure your wife appreciates your effort, even if you don't necessarily have the skill. :D

You're welcome, I told her that like most things it takes between 5k-10k hours to master something (I believe this is the Malcolm Gladwell’s “10,000 Hour Rule” although I didn't know it was his until I just googled it) so we should really start scheduling multiples practices a day.

it was first on Google Image Search.

What is free diving and how did you get in to it?

To me free diving is diving down to a depth holding your breath.   YOU'RE ALL SPIES!!!!! got me snorkeling years ago in San Diego, we'd go and swim around and look at things.  Usually you snorkel near shore in San Diego because the visibility is not so great, since viz is poor you need to be relatively close to what you're trying to see.  Once I was good at that we started going out much deeper, and would hold our breath, swim down, then swim around looking at things.  Usually somewhere between 20-50ft of depth is as far down as we'd go.   That is where you could see the more interesting things like Sea Urchins, bat rays, etc.   Its also really fun to zoom in and out of the kelp forest :)

Everyone can ask as many questions as they want.  I'm really enjoying doing this so the more the better.

Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or 1 horse sized duck?

Am I trying to just win the fight (scare them off, make them give up) or am I killing my foe and eating it?  Either way I think I'd fight the big duck - less feet to have to deal with, and it'd probably be tasty.  I usually don't enjoy eating duck, but if I had to fight it to the death I bet I could learn to enjoy it.

What games shaped your youth and your adulthood as a gamer?

Mike Tysons Punch Out! was probably the game that I logged the most hours on, When you beat "super macho man" it'd give you a code, if you went and put back in that code you could play him again.  I can't remember what my win record was for the hgiest code I had, but it was at least in the 90s.  Not sure if that shaped me, but that was a lot of devotion.  I also played through original Zelda (both quests) and made sure to burn every bush, and try to bomb every wall.   Later on i played TFC and all that nade spamming really was fun.  So that probably shaped me the most, since it caused me to start this community :)

How would you deal with eating the horse sized duck carcass? eg freeze it and eat it over time or have a 'I killed a horse sized duck' barbecue and invite everyone you know

One bite at a time.  The other day I ate a 22oz steak because that is what I ordered, and I figured the horse sized duck would of been pretty similar.  I do like the idea of a BBQ though.  good thinking.   Oh - I can tell you one thing for sure though - it would not be put on pizza - its just wrong to put duck on pizza.  I'm looking at you California Pizza Kitchen - only pizza I've ever considered too terrible to eat had duck on it.

I hadn't thought about it really.  If valve would stop stealing all the players I'd probably be more excited about it since it'd bring in new blood.  As it stands now tf2 seems to have a higher layer count than last year, but our servers seem to be way more empty than march last year.  hoping spring break helps.

Is Valve's decision to make the official server box ticked by default the worst decision Valve have made for TF2 so far?

No.  The decision to retro-actively punished idlers was definitely worse.  I mostly understand why they did it - it was a problem, but the ay they handled the whole situation called into question their character.   After they did this they for some reason seemed to over-correct and worried about the feelings of bad server operators -from my perspective the rogue operators that lied and cheated to gain popularity should have been bitched slapped non-stop until the risk of getting caught outweighed the possible gain.  Since they failed to act early, they ended up having to make slow and gradual improvements and changes to try to combat these bad operators - ultimately leading up to them running all the valve servers, and introducing the functionality to default to valve servers.   If gaming community server operators could have been trusted not to cram altered game play down users throats or taken advantage of pinion then I doubt valve would of 1) started up so many valve servers 2) added the official server box option at all.

I'm sorry - and not to be off topic - but is talking about drug use on this specific of a level really necessary? Not that this place is like "Disney-level" family friendly but rather young eyes do occasionally wander here, yes?  I feel weird if such actions are uhh.... discussed and basically condoned?

Star Wars based fantasies are cool and all but... the heavy drug use talk is just a bit much in my opinion...

It's just a question... he can choose to answer it if he wants or just comment and say he won't answer it. ;D

Do you like your sugar with coffee and cream?
Or do you like your coffee black just like your metal?

(music lyric reference here, but the question still stands ;P)

If a tree falls in a forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Here's a fun one:

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck was Chuck Norris?

Follow up question: Describe your favorite experience with drugs (For example, my favorite trip was on platinum kush because my hands turned into the millenium falcon cruising through dagoba).

For movies on the subject I'll go with fear and loathing in las vegas.  I've also been a huge fan of antibiotics when I've had strep throat.  I'd be really hard pressed to come up with a favorite experience that was somehow better than others but it'd probably be a lame sounding one where I drank a little too much with good friends if I really went with "favorite".   I've had crazy experiences for sure, but not necessarily anything I could called a favorite.  I can trade those sorts of "War stories" irl sometime though.

I wouldn't call it necessary, but this is an ask me anything.  So I'll take this as a question and be more clear on some things -

1) The answer she referenced was me attempting to be funny - I have never experienced "purple sliding everything - that loops during the vibration lull" - although that very well could have been something that someone could experience in an altered state.
2) I do see where you're coming from, so I'll take your statement as a question and then talk.
3) My past choices are exactly that - my past choices.  Any discussion of past choices or experiences should never be seen as me, or the greater community condoning or encouraging anything that is illegal in the readers local jurisdiction.  The impact of law breaking on someones life could be tremendous.  Since the internet is (mostly) worldwide its possible that something I talk about that seems a-ok in the US could be a local crime in another persons country.
4) I don't want to be a buzz kill, but a significant number of my experiences in an altered state (I'll just stick with ones that were legal - high amounts of caffine, nicotine, alcohol, marijuana in Colorado, having a bad reaction to cough syrup) weren't net positives.   Too much caffine has caused me to feel incredibly gross and sometimes makes me suddenly have to take a crap.  Same thing with nicotine - sometimes it made me feel calmer but most the time it was an uncomfortable feeling and usually lead to me taking a crap.  Alcohol often makes me feel like shit hours later and can often "ruin" the next day - even when I only have a couple beers.  Drinking often leads to me taking lots of craps / praying to the porcelin god.   When visiting colorado and smoking marijuana I had several terrible experiences because I was not accustomed to getting stoned and the only value I got out of it was that it was "different" - but terrifying.  The cough syrup thing might have been related to a fever [it happened to me when I was young] but I had a fruit loop monster that transformed into a car chasing me through the Kelloggs factory.  That sounds cool but the whole thing was in incredible slow motion and kept on "rewinding" so not only was a terrified I was also frustrated because it was slow and repetitive.

I take it black because I never wanted to add all the overhead of a ritual to my ingestion of a stimulant.  When I go to starbucks I almost alway order a "candyized" drink though (white chocolate mocha, pumpkin spice latte, etc).

Yes - but it makes the sound of "woo loo loo" not "thud"

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck was Chuck Norris?

Trick question - none - the wood would chuck itself.

I'm not sure if this makes sense, I'll rephrase it if you want me to but:

What has been your favorite unban request dealing with?

oh that is a tough one.  I don't think I have a single one - but I can give a generic answer - the ones I actually enjoy the most are people that are honest and are up front saying they know they shouldn't of done xyz and it wont happen again - since those are the easy ones :)   The ones that bring me the most face palming laughter tend to be ones that have outrageous claims that can't be substantiated - like that they let their cousin play but he was outside so it must of bene the dog who accidentally hit their bind for the "n" word on multiple different gaming sessions.

MY least favorites are ones that try to cite "free speech" or any other justification that involves any obligation on me to provide service for them.  Oh - and the ones that end a dispute with "fucky off I don't want to be unbanned anyways, I'll go play on valve servers" - I get a bit of a chuckle out of those too - why'd they take the time, and do they really enjoy valve servers?

I want more involvement in things like the Halloween contest, I'd like to see more special events (regs vs admins is always fun), I'd like to see the jaded olympics come back.  I'm even wishing we brought back a weekly / bi-weekly newbs event (we used to do zombie fortress or custom map events).

Mostly I want people with spare time to help out with organizing - I can always supply prizes and support.

What's your favorite breakfast food?

Every day I eat a lightly toasted peanut butter and peanut butter sandvich for breakfast.  My favorite breakfast food is probably french toast though - it just wipes me out too much since I'll eat like 1432431 pieces for me to eat it regularly.

Can you name a piece of art (be it a book, a film, a painting, a poem, etc.) that holds meaning to you?

This question is basically looking for an answer in the form of "I like this because it made/makes me think of [answer X]."

I'm still having problems with answering this. so I'll make a list of things that bug me or have a meaning to me which doesn't make any sense.  So consider these "I strongly dislike this because it made me [answer X]

Song - Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin - I have goose bumps AND a sick feeling in my stomach right now just writing out the name of it - I have a very negative reaction to this song.  Its always made me feel sad / bad / mad  - when I was a teenager I often would just stand up and walk out of a place if the song played..  I have no idea why it bothers me though.  My Dad was available to play with me when I was a kid (at least as far as I can recall) and made anything I was involved in a priority to be a part of - and also big on taking family vacations and having "forced family fun" (tongue in cheek) things like board games or visiting with relatives.  He did work a lot but it was a fixed schedule and when he left work he didn't bring it home with him - so there should be zero reason why I should identify with this song.   I guess it could of been a fear of not being there for my children (or maybe not being as good as my Dad) - but that doesn't really make sense either since I've always been the type of person who takes time to play with kids if they ask - I had siblings, and I baby sat other peoples kids - heck I still have a very active imagination and really have a good time playing with hotwheels or train sets or legos.  Now that I do have a son I give up my hobby time (since my work is time demanding) so that I am certain to play with him - song still bugs the shit out of me.

Peacock Feathers + females - When I was a kid I loved finding peacock feathers on the ground when I went to the zoo - I thought they were awesome, heck I probably still would.  But if a girl is wearing a shirt or other clothing item with a peacock feather print I'm disturbed by it.  In fact my wife makes special effort to point out people wearing such shirts.

Old Metal Toys - What probably were "awesome toys" the 40s and 50s like fast spinning metal tops that you push down a lever and it spins - or wind up metal toys of cowboys that walk?  Totally creep me out, I don't want to touch em, look at them, or have them around as decoration.  I so far have not found an exception to this rule.
