Drawing in about 2 hours.  If anyone would like to exclude themselves from the raffle (for a good reason) please let me know before then.   Me and jib aren't going to accept prizes, if we get picked I'll move it down to the next opted out person.

Do entries reset each month?

Yup.  I was even speedy (for me) and got the new numbers going today, and already have the archives of last period up.  At this rate I'll be able to have it auto post the winners for next month.

Winners need to come find me before the end of December to claim their prizes.

October was given out, november I sent the drawing results to jib..  December will be drawn on the 2nd.   

We're also out of our normal prizes, so we need to figure out something different :)

I've got a few hats I can donate for the greater good.  Just lemme know when and where to donate them!  (apologies ahead of time if there's already a drop box for them to be distributed.  Haven't checked the rest of the thread.  That being said, if people need I can hold onto them and then distribute them when the time is right.  If not, no worries.)

How the contest works: Quality threads/posts that are awarded <jib> are given 30 entries into the contest. All posts for the month count as 1 entry. Signing up for the forums will give you 20 entries.

How the drawing will take place: Octo will create a database with all of the entries, and simulate a drawing. Similar to selecting a bingo ball. B7.

What are the prizes? First place gets their choice of either a Voodoo Juju or the Spine-Chilling Skull. Second Place gets a Stout Shako.

What not to do: Spam posts. If you are thought to be running your numbers up in hopes of getting more entries.. Think again, we'll just remove you from the competition. Permanently. The purpose of this is to improve the forums and the content on it, so spend that time you would be farming posts on making a quality thread! 30 50 easy entries!


Quick Summary:
Each post = 1 entry
Great Threads / Posts (I like the cut of your Jib) = 50 entries
Winning or Submitting info for other contests = Bonus Entries
Signing up for the forums = 20 entries

Well, I hope JiB gets it going again, gives the community an actual "reason" to be active on the forums!

The "actual reason" for people to be on the forums should be to communicate with other members and be involved in the community not just because they want free shit.

Of course that's how it should be, I'm just presenting a view of the other member.

I should automate it so it just does it and posts the winner.  One of these days..

Presenting the view of another member is difficult to notice if you speak/type it directly from your self. It is the same as someone walking up to someone and saying "You Suck!" than an hour later saying "oh, that was someone else's opinion." (of course, that situation I described is a bit more vulgar)  If you were to word that correctly, might have been better to say "Some people aren't very motivated to be on the forums, perhaps giveaways will help the community by popularity or other things"

Just an example, but I wouldn't post anything like that in the first place. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt.

Pardon me for asking, but how exactly does a new member of this server community apply for such a raffle? Is it automatically tallied or is there another forum I have to reply to setup the raffle for myself?

Also, what is the chance of a casual forum viewer like myself to get one of these raffle hats. I'm only asking as such because I do not have many hats myself (I only recently became a premium tf2 member after 1.5 years of using the gibbus).

Yes. I do. I'll talk to octo about bringing back the counting of posts.. Plus we'd need some new prizes (we ran out of juju's and spine chilling skulls which is why we stopped).
