I don't know Thunder Mountain so I can't say anything for it.  cp_Badlands is a good stock map and should be part of the regular rotation.

I'm with you on that, Striker, but I have had a complaint or two about it.  That's also why I'm not voting in the poll proper.

Keep in mind, everybody, if Badlands gets moved to nominate (or removed completely), we will be looking for a solid CP map to replace it.  We don't really want to add Granary, so our choices are a bit limited.

Pros of Badlands:

- Solid, stock map that everybody already has downloaded
- Most people have played it, most people know how it works
- 5 CP, fairly friendly to new players as well as pubstars and others

Cons of Badlands:
- It seems to be home to a lot of steamrolls

Pros of Thunder Mountain:

- Multi-stage official PL map
- Everybody already has it downloaded
- Stage 1 and 2 are generally OK
- Many side paths for flanking and the like

Cons of Thunder Mountain:
- Stage 3 is confusing
- End of Stage 2 is nigh impossible to defend in most games it seems
- Tends to also be home to steamrolls
- Many side paths for flanking and the like

Now, some of these problems are, of course, based around teams and teamwork.  We must remember that we have "Newbs" in our server names so we tend to get a lot of newer players, and we want to keep our rotation as friendly to both old and new players as possible.

Vague reposting.

While both have their pros and cons. I find that steamrolls are going to suck no matter the map.. I just see them constantly on Badlands. The big difference is that at least on Thunder Mountain you get different maps instead of the same map where the same attack that wrecked you the previous time works again and again.. and again.. and again... for an hour. Map 1 of Thunder Mountain is pretty balanced (and you get to airblast people off the map!!).. Map 2 seems to be fairly easy to attack (relatively) and of course the 3rd is insanely hard to attack, so it sorta balances out 2 being hard to defend. Seems overall like it's more friendly.

Steamrolls are bad. That's why all servers should run DM_Turtlefort with no time limit.
