If there is cheater, exploiter, griefer or other problem user or any other problem:The Newbs Community strives to be a friendly, happy place where you can come and kill other people in an environment where you're not surrounded by people acting a fool disrupting the game. If a player is causing a major disturbance on the server, let an admin know. If none of the admins respond, be sure to leave a detailed message to them including the persons in game name, time of day, server and a description of what they were doing. Do not engage them, do not argue with them, do not get into shouting matches with them. Anything beyond 'Hey man, settle down' or 'please quit screaming in your mic' and you will very likely be adding to the problem. If someone is mic spamming its not your duty to play 'better music' over them. Its not your job to tell a guy whose name is 'dead baby fetus eater who banged your mom' that he's going to burn in hell. Its me (Octo) and the other admins job to do so
Contact an admin by sending a message through steam or the forums or send email to
[email protected].

From outside the game (or the overlay (shift+tab) browser): Open the chat directly by clicking the following link:

Then click on "Enter Chat Room" or click "Join Group" and then join chat from the group on your friends list
Do NOT engage troublemaker(s) yourself. If you end up arguing with or being abusive back to any troublemakers it may end up getting you both banned.
If an admin cannot be reached get proof using screenshots, condumps and demos (the more proof the better) then either contact an admin later using one of the above methods or submit the evidence using one of the following methods.
Submitting Evidence Submit evidence using one of the following methods:
* Upload it to

* Send it via email to
[email protected].
* Attach it to a pm message on the forums and send to an admin.
Getting a Steam ID 1. Open the console (press ~, developer console must be enabled in options)
(Enable console in "main menu->options->keyboard->advanced->(check) Enable
developer console")
2. In console type "status".
3. Note the steam id (STEAM:0:0:121414 etc.) of the problem player in the status list.
4. Report the steam id and name of the problem player to an admin using
one of the above-listed methods.
Creating a Condump ("Console Dump", creates a text file with the text chat from records from your console):
1. Open the console (press ~, developer console must be enabled in options)
(Enable console in "main menu->options->keyboard->advanced->(check) Enable
developer console")
2. In console type "condump".
3. Find the created "condump.txt" in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOURSTEAMUSERNAME\team fortress 2\tf\
4. Send the file to an admin using one of the above-listed methods.
Taking a Demo 1. Join spectators (press . and then click the little TV).
2. Switch to spectating the person the problem person.
3. Open the console (press ~, developer console must be enabled in options)
(Enable console in "main menu->options->keyboard->advanced->(check) Enable
developer console")
4. Type "record <demonamehere>". Example: "record dirtycheater"
5. When you have enough footage, in the console, type "stop"
6. The recorded .dem (demo) file can be found in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOURSTEAMUSERNAME\team fortress 2\tf\
7. Send the file to an admin using one of the above-listed methods.
NOTE: You can instantly spectate a specific player by entering the following in console:
spec_player "playname or session id here (session id is the #132 type number that shows up by a players name when you type status, not SteamID). Name must be exact, so use the session ID for complicated names or high ascii etc.
