TF2 Newbs (Team Fortress 2)

I had the day off today, and I decided to devote my whole day to doing absolutely nothing constructive in the real world. It’s one of those day dreams I have when i’m working four 12 hour shifts in a row.. Long story short, we had a few scrims today and i’m here to tell you about it.

It started out like any other scrim.. zei|o messages me, I ask if we have 6 - we do - log on vent - dondi found some randos who want to get down and dirty. sweet. So we load up gravel pit on #8 and the fun ensues. Memorable quotes from the match:

They barely capped A. Literally, they had like 3 seconds left before they capped it. One of their guys raegs because we have two snipers raining down bullets into their faces. they blame his pc.. he rejoins we restart. We run two spies. They capture A, but struggle to even touch B. We win within 40 seconds on offense. This madness continue for 3 rounds until they’ve had enough and the newbs leave. I hang out afterwards and play their team 6v1 as scout and they STILL didn’t win haha.. they weren’t playing too hard but still : )

half hour break.. we regroup versus some reputable individuals on badlands.

First map we get to the last point, but fail to cap all the way. They counter us all the way back and eventually win. Second round, we came out and pushed right down their throats,(thats what she said) ubered on the last point, killed their medic and won. It was pretty obvious the team who took the middle point first was most likely going to win. After that round they were pretty tentative at taking the middle point, and we really starting getting into a groove. We lost that one, then won. You could tell it was getting to them, because when we hit 2-2, they subbed in former Cevo-p V-police’s BLACKYMOSTER at sniper. I’ve played him a couple times and he puts people to shame with that red dot. He was such a force their medic was pretty much dedicated to him for the big battles at the third point. BLACKYMONSTER’s presence was felt, but not enough for them to pull out another win.

They started switching their build with a pyro and BLACKY going to scout, but to no evail.

Bottom Line: Newbs win.

We were running surf maps, but last night we switched over to 2fort to test things out. This is from the first night, had quite a few [N] peeps on.

Today we switched it up, switched to our 2fort night tweaks with 5 second respawn.. carnage and goodtimes ensued.

Heres a followup/update on the 12 days of 2fort.

These pretty much speak for themselves, here are four fun for the whole family songs celebrating Team Fortress 2. Big thanks go out to Koans R Us and Crouton Magillicutty for their efforts. I’d really love to see these turned into bigger productions (in-game demo, machinima, flash movie, etc). So if anyone wants to offer to sing/record these songs or is interested in doing some video work or other production please let me know. I will give out reserves and kudos if people put in time.

Team Fortress 2 Christmas Songs

Trying to catch up on some things that happened in the past that I never made blog posts about. The big news is that I have relaxed the registration requirements so that its no longer necessary to provide your STEAM_ID when you sign up. There were players on the servers that were having a hard time registering in the past, so this should fix that problem. There was a brief unfortunate side effect of having some spam posted, but I’ve made further adjustments to thwart the automated registrations. So come on, join in the fun and get to posting. Although not the largest TF2/L4D forum around we do have a great bunch of players and participants, so check it out.

We also added a category for L4D discussion, we got some videos, and some quotes, and some wild stories. Good stuff.

Oh, also we were gifted a Ventrillo server by [MLW] Shady Munky, the information for it is posted on the forums but it requires you to register. So, thats a nice added bonus of happy times. =)

Its not every day that you get to be invited to participate in something that is great. Well today is your lucky day. You - YES - You are personally invited to be a part of something big. Something that took seconds to form, but will take decades to break apart.

I’m sure at this point curiosity would be eating you alive if I hadn’t given away the topic of todays post in the title. But incase you missed it - Newbs TF2 has their very own server clan now! I know, I know, we sure took our sweet time deciding to create one. But now we have one. So yay :) Oh, and our symbol of hotness is [N]. Short, sweet, simple, and N-Style *ducks*.

This non-competitive clan is open to all players on the Newbs servers that consider themselves _Newbs_. Enrollment is simple, the cost is free, and the fun times you’ll have from being in [N] are priceless. Where other clans have strict participation rules, or require donations to join the servers clan here at Newbs none of this is necessary. There are a few simple rules though:

1) Be a positive player. Keep personal attacks and trash talk to yourself.
2) No griefing, racism, hate.
3) Membership is limited to 1 community clan (eg: you can not be in eGO and in N at the same time)
4) Have a good time

In order to join [N] there are a couple simple things that must be done:

1) Register on the forum
2) Post a NEW thread in the [N] forum ( http://www.tf2newbs.com/forum/index.php/board,29.0.html )
